Closing and reopening recordset

hi there. i find this site very helpful and always consults this when i'm in a bind and usually find the answers i need. but not this time so hopefully somebody can help (the answer is probably very simple).

I use the data control and create recordsets from it. What I need to do is copy one database onto another, then continue working from the original database. I use FileCopy after closing the recordset (took me a while to figure out that I needed to close the database first). I am able to do the copying but currently stuck in figuring out how to OPEN the database/recordset again so I can keep on working.

I'd really appreciate some help.
